About Tony Hind

Red River Aikido is guided by Tony Hind Shihan, Technical Director of the Canadian Aikido Association. Tony holds the rank of 7th Dan and the title of Shihan, conferred directly by Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo. He was the last foreign kenshusei to live at Hombu Dojo and train under Kisshomaru Ueshiba, the founder's son and successor. During his decades in Japan he trained alongside some of the most prominent figures in the art and founded seven dojos in Tokyo.
